Füssen, Germany

Füssen, GermanyFüssen is located at the very end of the Romantic Road (or the beginning if you are travelling in the less usual direction).
It is hard to think of a better spot for a grand finale.
It is located on a lake (the Forggensee), has the River Lech flowing through the centre, and is set against the spectacular backdrop of the Alps.
The town itself has a wealth of historical interest, but it's also close at hand to some of the most popular castles in southern Germany -Neuschwanstein Castle and Hohenswangau Castle.
You can find many more details about what there is to see in the town and about the history of the main sights on our information page:Füssen Information
Füssen is one of the last towns in southern Germany before the border with Austria. Transport information both north and south and details of hotel accommodation in the area can be seen on our travel page: Füssen Hotels & Travel
Those who are looking to cater for themselves might prefer the selection of apartments over at Live-Like-A-German: Füssen Vacation Rentals. If you would prefer to leave your arrangements at the start or end of your break in the hands of experts, then get in touch with German specialists Travel Without Borders via our information request form.
The Füssen photo gallery has a range of images with a short description of what you can see in each picture: Füssen Images
